Where Exactly Does the Money Go To?

The money goes directly to Breakfast for Learning (PEI).  The money is used to (a) support current school breakfast programs as well as (b) to start new breakfast programs on P.E.I.

What if Someone Wants Money Specifically Donated?

If someone requests their contribution to go towards a breakfast program in a specific community, that is no problem.  The rider or volunteer must then communicate this to the organizers by writing down the request on their pledge sheet.  This can either be a particular school or community or a community or school outside of Prince Edward Island. In this case, please make cheques payable to "Summerside Cycling Club" and we will administer the fees from our end.

I'm not a Rider but I want to Donate Online

You can donate online.  Simply stroll down to the bottom right menu item under "Paypal BFBC Donation" and then send me an email to say who you are sponsoring.

Can I submit my Pledges Before Registration?

This is very much appreciated.  We all participate in events and although the events are usually worth waiting in a registration line, I would like to see the registration line be more of a "check in" then a Registration Table.  To this end, you can register online, electronically sign the waiver online, and even submit your pledges online.

How Far Does the Pledges Go?

It has been researched that it costs $0.85 for one child to eat a healthy breakfast in a Breakfast School Program.  So, every single dollar goes a long way to support our children.

So, How Many Schools Have Opened a Program

What is Breakfast for Learning?

Breakfast for Learning is the leading national non-profit organization solely dedicated to child nutrition programs in Canada. We know that when a child is well-nourished, they perform better in school and we work to ensure that students receive the healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks they need to succeed.  The PEI division of the Breakfast for Learning administers the funds raised through BFBC and it is from Breakfast for Learning (PEI) that you get your tax receipts

What is the charitable registration number?

Breakfast For Learning's charitable business number is: 88763-0556-RR0001

How Do Schools Access The Money?

The dollars raised from BFBC are transferred to the P.E.I. Breakfast for Learning organization.  Details about how to access support from the P.E.I. Breakfast for Learning organization can be located by following this link: grants.  So, to be clear, the organizers of the BFBC do not administer the funds directly, but the funds we raise go directly to BFL who administer the funds through their programs.
