It is nearly impossible to describe the feeling of accomplishing this annual trek across our beloved island paradise, by bicycle, in one day.
Here is a google street view of East Point. You can stroll around the area and get an idea of what it there. You'll notice the natural landscape, very little business, and just how close you can get to the tip of the island (see if you can find the sign that says CAUTION! DANGER - BANK EROSION.
Perhaps the best way to summarize the end of event is to reflect some words of previous riders:
"My only suggestion is to make sure to have it again next year, and the year after, and... From web site to finish line every part of this ride is amazing....I feel proud and privileged to have been a part of this. " Rob Chambers, Halifax.
"The most significant comment I have to make is how well run the whole event was from the website to the ride to this opportunity to give input. It was obvious that alot of thought had been put into the planning. Everyone was upbeat and cheerful. Energy stop folks were sooo encouraging. There were lots of peppy little toots from car horns passing by. Overall a great event. " Seana Mills.
"The addition this year of the midway lunch was the icing on the cake. You are providing a complete show. Other than controlling the weather I don't know what else you can do. Please make sure your great volunteers know they are a huge part of the ride being a success and are greatly appreciated. The ride down route 12 is much better. The water splashing up off the road was warmer than the rain falling down, that was nice. The volunteer who ran me a tire pump when I flated just outside the Country Inn showed the care and knowledge your volunteers have. Again the hot lunch is something I will look forward to next year. The meal at the end was well done. Good recovery food." Dave Ross, Windor Junction, NS
"First of all thank you! Congratulations on organizing a first class event. I felt privileged to be a part of it. You and your fantastic volunteers did an amazing job. It was a superb experience, and I hope to return again next year. I ave attached a zip file with some pictures my family took of the ride." Cam Thorne, Halifax.
