This is one of my favorite stretches from North Cape to Portage. Trees cover both sides of our journey (if only for about 5 minutes) but it provides shelter from the wind, time to grab a water bottle, or just time to sit up, chat with some of the new and old friends you will be working with all day today. This area of the road is shortly before coming to Jacques Cartier provincial park, where we bicycle so close to the shoreline that I swear I can fell the water off the tide during one event. Look there are no shoulders on this road but because it is so rural and quiet, we'll be making the largest noise this day...
