That is it. (Click here for a screenshot) With your single click, you have brought us closer to bringing a breakfast program to all PEI schools by 2020. Also, because our event allows off-island riders to raise money for their local community, our event can raise money for any breakfast program anywhere.
Please consider passing this email / message along to people you know, co-workers, facebook friends, etc. because with one single click of the mouse can be a great benefit to so many kids.
The event with the most "likes" wins the $5,000.The leading event has 202 people; I know we can have a least 500 people.
The PEI Government released last Thursday the results of their study, Prince Edward Island: Mental Fitness, Physical Activity and Healthy Eating (Page 25 highlights breakfast consumption). This study highlights many facets for kids in grade 5 to 12 attending PEI schools. Of particular importance, is the number of children who are not eating breakfast on a daily basis: 39 % of males and 48 % of females.
Equally disturbing is how although breakfast consumption decreases with age, there are still 30% of male grade 5 students and 34% of female grade 5 students that are not eating breakfast daily.
